PLASTOFORM

At this stage of the class's form studies, we combined the different form families to create a new one.  At least two groups had to be used, and it needed to be obvious that multiple families were used, however, we needed to focus on blending the transition between the forms.  Parts needed to come together to create a whole.  The form was constrained to the scale of a human hand, because of this, I wanted my design to curve naturally to the hand, making it comfortable to hold.  This also meant focusing on the surface condition of the form, fair curves as well as the change in position in the multiple forms

To start, I began sketching the fair curves from some of the objects I had collected and began experimenting on the page through ideation.

Not having a specific end goal function for this project was challenging, it was hard to find momentum in a positive direction.  Bringing multiple pieces together was challenging in the effect that I did not want to be glueing a piece of trash onto another piece of trash. I also did not want someone to pick up the form and automatically assume it's function, rather have that aspect be open to more ideas and interpretation.  Wanting to keep the fair curves and line cohesive, my form is made up the Linear flow and Tectonic form families.
