PLANAR FLOW FORM
Using sheet polystyrene, these forms were created by thermoforming the material over a shape, therefore manipulating the material's surface. This made creating the forms rather difficult because of the uncertainty of how the material would react. However, the draping of the polystyrene over another object did create an interesting effect, even if it was unintended. I found that in order to be successful in this project, I had to step back and not fight for control over the material, and let the shapes natural take form. This allowed for fair curves to develop, allowing for a more fluid transition between the changes in surfaces.
The first attempt did not come out as smooth as I had hoped. While the form did achive to form curves, too many formed and crossed over themselves, making the overal shape uneven and not exactly pleasing to the eye.

The second iteration was scaled down, with just a few simple even curves. This allows for a better effect with shadows and light, bring out the fair curves. This form is signifigantly smaller, and this allows for this form to interact with the ground plane in a more gentle way.
